Caversham® Appoints Leading Tissue Viability Expert Sue Johnson as Chief Nurse and Advisor

Caversham® is delighted to announce the appointment of Sue Johnson MA, BA (Hons), RGN, as our new Chief Nurse and Tissue Viability Advisor. In this vital strategic role, Sue will spearhead our clinical engagement initiatives, bridging the gap between cutting-edge supplier innovations and the evolving needs of our healthcare customers.

Sue brings a wealth of knowledge to the team, gathered across more than four decades of dedicated nursing practice. Notably, she spent twenty-five years as a clinical specialist and operational lead for wound care services within the NHS at the Doncaster Royal and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Following her exemplary tenure in the public sector, Sue transitioned into independent consultancy and commercial healthcare governance, successfully directing clinic management, clinical training, and regulatory compliance.

Beyond her hands-on clinical and managerial acumen, Sue is a deeply respected academic voice in the tissue viability community. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers in the Journal of Wound Care, the British Journal of Nursing, and the Journal of Tissue Viability, and has presented breakthrough research at major European clinical conferences. Her clinical rigour is further evidenced by her extensive portfolio of medico-legal work, in which she is regularly commissioned to prepare independent expert nursing reports on tissue care standards for legal firms and regulatory bodies.
